Now I am going to introduce a new type of habit and behavior that will allow you to develop the self-image and mindset to achieve all others. First you must change your mind deliberately to change your actions. I think this has been the most important thing in my life and development. It is so important I am going to say it again: First you must change your mind deliberately to change your actions.
How do you make that change? Well you apply the rules of simplicity to creating a habit to change your mind. For example if you want to have the self-image of a fit and healthy person, you will spend a small amount of time thinking about times in your day, week, month, year or life when you have done things that align with being fit or healthy. By focusing your mind on the things you want and the person you want to be, you begin to change your self-image and your actions will follow.
I know some of you are thinking this is getting a little hokey, but I challenge you to focus for 1 day or even one hour on the thoughts you have in your head, or the things you put into your mind. We are constantly bombarded by things put into our environment to shape what we do. Are you passively consuming what is put in front of you or are you deliberately selecting what you are entertained by and how you spend your time?
What do you spend your day doing? Do you actively seek out the information you want to fill your mind? Are the forms of entertainment you consume helping you to improve your standing in life or are they keeping you where you are? Is your current state of mind positive overall or negative?
